“ Last Thursday, I had the pleasure of dining at Boru Ramen with my family, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. As we stepped into the restaurant, we were immediately struck by the clean, bright, and inviting ambiance. The setting was modern yet cozy, and it was clear from the outset that the staff took great pride in maintaining the establishment. Service: We were promptly greeted by friendly servers and cooks who guided us to our table. The service was exceptionally fast, yet it never felt rushed. It was evident that the staff were well-trained and attentive to the smallest details. Food: To kick things off, we ordered the Gyoza appetizer—pan-fried dumplings filled with a delightful blend of pork and vegetables. The dumplings were cooked to perfection, boasting a satisfyingly crispy exterior and a juicy, flavorful interior. They were clearly fresh and set the tone for what was to come. For my main course, I chose the Tantan-Men—hot and spicy ramen noodles soup with minced pork, egg, bamboo shoots, scallions, peanuts, and roasted spices. I must say, this dish exceeded all expectations. The ramen noodles were cooked al dente, the minced pork was succulent, and the broth was rich and aromatic. The symphony of flavors was both complex and harmonious, with each ingredient contributing to a wonderfully spicy and savory experience. The standout feature for me was the freshness of all the ingredients. Whether it was the bamboo shoots or the scallions, everything seemed to have been sourced and prepared with great care. The spicy notes of the soup hit just the right balance—powerful enough to satisfy my craving for spice, but not so overpowering that it masked the other flavors. Final Thoughts: Boru Ramen proved to be an exceptional dining experience that ticked all the boxes: ambiance, service, and most importantly, high-quality, delicious food. If you're in Arlington, VA, and are in the mood for some authentic, palate-pleasing ramen, then Boru Ramen should be at the top of your list. Will I return? Absolutely. And I'll be bringing more friends and family along to share in this culinary gem. ”
“ This ramen place seems to be one of the most authentic Japanese ramen places in the DMV area. The servers were friendly, the atmosphere was great, and the fried oysters were delicious. I would visit here back again! ”
“ Quick and easy for an online pickup. Very flavorful broth and overall really good. The spicy miso wasn’t too spicy but I added some of the pepper on the table. Only indoor seating. ”
“ First time visiting! I have been craving ramen for so long and decided to try Boru Ramen after reading the raving reviews and boy it did not disappoint!! •Ambiance: We dined on Sunday afternoon. I made a reservation but the place was pretty empty today except for the counter tops where people seemed to be soloing. Parking was a bit of stretch but I think you can find street parkings around. Not much decor, open kitchen and clean interior. •Food: For appetizers we tried Kaki Fry ( fried oysters) and Boru Balls My boyfriend got Tan Tan Men (Pork) and I got Buta Kakuni with extra regular chashu and chili oil on the side for our entree. Buta Kakuni Ramen had rich yet non oily pork bone broth that was just delicious. Full flavor, light texture, and just enough pork aroma. If you are the type of person that does not enjoy meaty bone broth flavor it may not be for you but I full heartedly enjoyed it! Both buta kakuni and chashu toppings were tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned. They were so tender it kept breaking apart when I picked it up with my chopsticks! I usually do not finish menma but their menma was also seasoned and delicious. Tan tan men was even better! It is hard to explain the flavor because it was so complex!! But we both loved it. Both of the appetizers were perfectly crispy and juicy and the sauces OMG. Boru Ramen really knows how to make the sauces. Honestly by far this is the best Ramen place I have tried so far in the dc and nova area. Beware of the chili oil because it is SPICY Overall 10/10 definitely ready to try all of their menu items ”
“ Like the noodles here and had been back a few times now will keep coming for more. ”
“ Boru was more authentic and fresh than other DMV ramen places I’ve been to. Spicy miso Ramen- 5/5 The meat was tender and carried all the flavor of the miso. The umami flavors blended well with the spices. Definitely the best ramen I’ve had in DC Crab Ramen- I had a bite of my friends and it was definitely worth a try. The decor and art here is good. There’s a bar for you to sit at and socialize as well. ”
“ The food is insane. So good. I've never had ramen that had such a deep intricate flavor like that before. Spicyness level was perfect too, I got the spicy chicken broth with the pork. The calamari was great too. ”
“ This is one of my favorite places to eat lunch at after work or during the weekends - easily my favorite ramen place. The sodas I ordered were flat today, though I'm not blaming the restaurant. It seems like an issue with their distributor, which I hope gets resolved because it isn't fair to the restaurant to have a mistake like that. The main reason I'm writing this review is to express my gratitude with how patient and considerate the staff were over this. It's a small thing but they even went out of the way to get fountain drinks from the restaurant next door while also taking the drink off the tab. Way more than necessary but I really appreciate how good the service is in Boru on top of everything else. ”
